Exclusive Membership benefits of The Geelong Club

Members First

As Geelong Club Members, our beautiful building is offered to the public, on strict terms, for private function use—only during periods that Members do not have previously confirmed events.

During any ‘public access event’, Members will be reserved a dedicated area within the Clubhouse at all times, ensuring that if the Club is open for any reason, Members shall enjoy the full benefit of their Membership.

Account Privileges

Geelong Club Members enjoy the traditional ‘Account System’, providing the privilege of a monthly account—managed via a dedicated direct debit form, made available to Members at their discretion.

As a part of the account service, Members may also elect to have annual subscriptions debited in the same manner, allowing for a seamless & efficient method of delivering the traditional Members privilege of an account system for both in-house consumption and annual subscriptions.

Cigar Collection

The Geelong Club holds one of the regions finest collection of cigars—available for purchase by all Members to enjoy off-site or within our private Garden.

A dedicated commercial grade humidor has been installed in the Billiards Hall—delivered by a fellow Member—to ensure the Club’s stock is maintained to the highest standard.

Members will find the cigar collection particularly well suited to the equally well catered food and beverage offering.

Members Events

The Club’ Social Calendar abounds with a range of new events, Club features and Members’ benefits—including food and beverage focused events such as the Cellar Dwellers and Bottle Clubs, guest speakers, inter-club competitions and much more.

The Social and Membership Committees continue to develop events & offerings for the Member’s benefits and often reach out to the Membership to seek input and recommendations.

Private Dining

Members dine most nights of the week with prior notice and depending on group size, may arrange for private dining experiences in any of the Club’s fine rooms.

Members are invited to make direct contact with the Club Manager and Chef, who welcome the opportunity to accommodate any specific menu requests or catering needs.

Club Access

Although the Club’s official opening hours are as listed, the Clubhouse remains open to all Members from approximately 9:00 am Tuesday – Friday, by arrangement with the Club Manager. The Club is staffed with limited service during these earlier hours.

Members enjoy exclusive access to a range of Reciprocal Clubs throughout Australia and the world.

Our Members may request a Letter of Introduction to any of our Reciprocal Clubs for a subsequent welcome.

Private Functions

Members of the Geelong Club enjoy private use of the Club’s facilities for events, should they wish to host a private dinner, birthday party or corporate function.

The Club is available to all Members, in full, at no charge—with a Club Manager and dedicated team on hand to help arrange the ideal function or event.

Dress Code

As a Private Member’s Club, with a rich tradition, a dress-code is required of all Members & their guests.

Members are responsible for ensuring their guests abide by the dress code. Reception has emergency stock of jackets & ties if required.

General Dress Code

Jacket, long-sleeved collared shirt, tailored pants or chinos and dress shoes. In hot weather (over 28 degrees) or at discretion, jackets can be removed once on club premises. Ties must be worn to all official club events— for example, the President’s Dinner, etc.

To be suitably attired—Torn Denim is not permitted.

Children should conform to the above guidelines as best they can.

Smart Casual—Fridays after 5 pm (Collared shirt and tailored pants)

As above, with the inclusion of collared tops— such as polo or short sleeve shirt—jeans and dress shoes.

Smart casual is restricted to the bar, billiards hall & garden area only and does not include non-collared tops such as tee shirts, shorts or sneakers. If using any other areas of the club such as the dining room, then the general dress code is applicable.
